Anne McKay Riding School’s instructors have over 60 years of experience training horses and riders. Starting at the age of 6 and up, we specialize in training new riders to advanced, competing levels. We are passionate about practicing safe, fun riding while helping you achieve your equestrian goals.
With 6 decades of horsemanship and training, Anne has premier expertise in the equestrian world. What began as a childhood pastime, petting the animals at the nearby University Veterinary School, nurtured into a passion for horses that she’s been pursuing ever since.
Anne has true horsemanship, having bred, raised and trained over a dozen Grand Prix horses. Not only did she receive USDF Silver and Gold medals on her own mounts but also accompanied 2, 13 year old students to their successful achievements of USDF Silver medal at the Prix St. George. Few trainers students’ have achieved such an accomplishment at this age.
For 25 years, Anne was the owner and trainer of AuxChevaux Equestrian Center. She trained and boarded horses of all skill levels. Her stock in trade included breeding Holsteiner horses with her own stallion "Rapport.” She also ventured to Wellington, FL where she sold the products of her knowledge–expertly bred and managed equines for 4 successful years.
Importing Warmblood horses from Europe has also been an endeavor that has resulted in customers finding top horses that have excelled in competition and in the breeding world. Her international connections have helped clients find the horses they desire for equestrian sport.
Anne has spent 10 years coaching riders to success at Pegasus Riding School in Medina, MN. Her mentoring of Hunter/Jumper and Dressage students led many to impressive year-end, national, and regional awards.
Today, she is the Head Trainer at McKay Equestrian's Harvest Hill Farm, continuing her passion of working with people and horses to reach their full equestrian potential.
Diana has been a riding enthusiast for the past four decades. Riding ponies through the countryside of England comprised most of Diana’s childhood. It was here where she participated in Fox Hunting and Jumping events until she moved to the states in 1994. Diana also spent time in Thailand exploring the countryside on her horse, Maa.
Diana has been riding alongside Anne Mckay for the past 30 years, and working with her since 2018. Diana’s love for teaching comes from starting beginner riders and introducing them to the love of horses. She is an excellent instructor for all riding levels.
